Multilateral institutions
Our training programs have been supported by multilateral institutions such as the European Union, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Labor Organization, and the World Bank.
The European Union designated the Foundation as the single-source supplier of training for the European Cluster Excellence initiative, resulting in more than 50 European Regional Development Agencies being trained for six weeks in Barcelona while working on real projects in their regions. The EU also funded the EUROMED project, which ran a program in Lebanon, Tunisia, and Morocco, rotating classes among the three countries.
The Inter-American Development Bank has been a pioneer in cluster-based economic development and has supported comprehensive programs in the Caribbean, even co-hosting two of our Summer Schools at its headquarters in Washington.
The World Bank developed sector-specific programs that included the full program over the last fifteen years in a wide range of countries, such as Croatia, Benin, Belarus, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Peru, and Tunisia. The in-person format was adapted during COVID to a hybrid model to allow the projects to continue.
